Book: All We Ever Wanted
Author: Emily Giffin
“Nina Browning is living the good life after marrying into Nashville’s elite. Her husband recently made a fortune selling his tech business, and their adored son has been accepted to Princeton. Yet sometimes, the middle-class small-town girl in Nina wonders if she’s strayed from the person she once was.
Tom Volpe is a single dad working multiple jobs while struggling to raise his headstrong daughter, Lyla. His road has been lonely, long, and hard, but he finally starts to relax after Lyla earns a scholarship to Windsor Academy, Nashville’s most prestigious private school.
Amid so much wealth and privilege, Lyla doesn’t always fit in—and her overprotective father doesn’t help—but in most ways, she’s a typical teenaged girl, happy and thriving.
Then, one photograph, snapped in a drunken moment at a party, changes everything. As the image spreads like wildfire, the Windsor community is instantly polarized, buzzing with controversy and assigning blame.
At the heart of the lies and scandal, Tom, Nina, and Lyla are forced together—all questioning their closest relationships, asking who they really are, and searching for the courage to live a life of true meaning.”
Emily Giffin is my favorite fiction author! I have read all of her books and I highly recommend her other books as well like Something Borrowed and Something Blue. Every single time I read one of her books I am guaranteed to cry, laugh and think a little deeper about my own life. She has a way of putting you inside the head of the characters in her book that makes you wonder what you would do in their situations.
All We Ever Wanted also has a pretty big twist, and who doesn’t love a good twist??
My Biggest take away
A good fiction book is always fun to read especially on vacation or poolside, but this book not only has that great storyline, but it also makes you look at your life and wonder, “What are my priorities? Am I the person I want to be? Do I need to make some changes in my life?”
Who should read this book?
Anyone looking for a great fictional story with a twisting plot line. This is not a romantic comedy, it is actually a pretty intense storyline, so if you are looking for a super fun romantic beach read, this probably isn’t it 🙂
I HIGHLY recommend All We Ever Wanted along with all of Emily Giffin’s books! Click here to purchase the book and see below for all of Emily’s books!
