DIY Paper Flowers

in DIY & Home Decor on 04/14/18

I was looking for decoration ideas for my Grandma’s 80th birthday and spotted some paper flowers on Pinterest.  I gathered the supplies and made my own tutorial for my Lilies and Life followers!  These flowers are very easy to make and the results are beautiful!

DIY Paper Flowers

DIY Paper Peony

Supplies:

  1. My FREE Peony Paper Flower Template
  2. Card stock 8.5”X11” (any color)
  3. Scissors
  4. Pencil
  5. Glue Gun

DIY Paper Flowers supplies list, glue, scissors, card stock, template

Creating the Paper Peony
  1. Cut out templates: Use my FREE Peony Paper Flower Template to cut out each size of the templates.  (I am going to make a medium size peony for this demonstration)
  2. Trace your flower: Use the petal templates to trace two medium flowers and two small flowers on card stock of your choice

DIY Paper Flowers trace the template

3. Cut: Cut out each of the four petals you traced

DIY Paper Flower cut outs4.  Fold: Fold all of the petals of the four cut outs in

DIY Paper Flower fold the templates

5. Glue: Place a drop of glue in the middle of one of the medium size petals. Place the second medium petald onto the glue

6. Glue again: continue gluing the small petals to the medium petals

Creating the centerpiece of the flower:
  1. Cut a strip of card stock about 6-8” X 2”

2. Cut small strips into the large strip making sure not to cut all the way through like this:

3. Roll up the strip from one end

4. Glue the end of the strip to hold it in place

5. Glue the centerpiece to your flower

 6. Once the centerpiece is dry (don’t do this step before you know the glue has dried), fold out the little strips to finish the centerpiece and Tah-dah!!

  2. Card stock 8.5”X11” (any color)
  3. Scissors
  4. Pencil
  5. Glue gun & glue

DIY Paper Flower Rose

Creating the Rose Flower
  1. Cut out Templates: Use my FREE Rose Paper Flower Template-Large & Rose Paper Flower Template- Medium and Small to cut out each size of the templates
  2. Trace your flower: Use the petal templates to trace five large petals, eight medium petals and three small petals on card stock of your choice
  3. Cut: Cut out each of the petals you traced

4. Roll: Now you are going to roll the tops of the large petals towards the middle of the petal.  This part is key to making your flower look great: roll three of the petals “over” towards the end of the petal and two petals “under” towards the end of the petal like this:

5. Glue: Place one of the large petals down and glue each large petal to the next making sure to alternate the “rolled over” and “rolled under” petals like so (there will be two “rolled over” petals next to each other):

6. Roll again: Roll the tops of the medium petals towards the middle of the petal.  Roll four petals “over” and four petals “under.”

7. Glue: Glue five of the medium petals to the large petals like so:

8. Glue: Glue the last three of the medium petals on top of what you have glued so far:

9. Roll: Roll the tops of the small petals towards the middle peak end of the petal.  Roll one petal “over” and two petals “under.”

10. Glue: Glue the small petals to the middle of your flower like this:

How do you give your home that cohesive feel?? I have a few tips that I'll be sharing with you all throughout the week😘

The first one is all about color scheme. Focus on two to three main colors throughout your room when choosing decor. Swipe to see how I strategically incorporated the same three colors in this fireplace space.

"DISCLAIMER* design is subjective, if you love it and it makes YOU happy do it!!👏 (This is going to be our matra for the week people)

It's my 30th Birthday today🎉 So I ALWAYS ask m It's my 30th Birthday today🎉

So I ALWAYS ask my husband to rub my feet and sometimes he does but most of the time he doesn't 😂 So guess what my birthday gift was this year? A foot massager 🤣 And I love it! I guess this means I'm getting old 😬🥳

I have been so blessed these last 30 years and can't wait to see what God has in store for this decade🙌
